For those of you who haven’t been to Boracay, you should know that it’s one of the must-go places in the Philippines. In 2012, Boracay was awarded the title World’s Best Island by Travel & Leisure.
Only about 7 kilometers long and 1 kilometer wide, little Boracay is the hub of parties and tourist activities every summer, especially around the months of April and May. At the White Beach area, you can practically engage in zillions of activities, like sailing, snorkeling, swimming, parasailing, diving, and island-hopping. As the sun sets, you can visit the many bars and restaurants along the shore or go shopping at D’Mall. There’s plenty of live entertainment at the bars where you can eat and drink your heart out. Many entertainment places operate up to the wee hours of the morning. There’s always something for everyone in this tiny island. And if you want to explore further, you can go to Puka Beach where you can feast on sumptuous seafood delights, east to Bulabog Beach for watersporting, and secluded but serene Diniwid Beach.
May 1, a public holiday in the Philippines, happens to fall on a Friday this year. This long weekend would be the perfect time to visit Boracay because of the many fun and exciting activities already slated between the last week of April to the first week of May. These series of events are collectively part of LaBoracay 2015. So make a point to join any of these and be a part of the Boracay scene this year!
